How To Add Brother Printer To Mac OS?

  1. Turn off your Brother machine and unplug it from the power outlet. If an interface cable is connected, unplug it as well.
  2. Choose your connection type.

For USB Users:

a. Plug the Brother machine to the power outlet and turn the machine power on.

b. Connect the Brother machine to the PC by the USB cable.

For Wired Network Users:

a. Connect the network cable to the Brother machine and the hub.

b. Plug the Brother machine to the power outlet and turn the machine power on.

For Wireless Network Users:

a. Plug the Brother machine to the power outlet and turn the machine power on.

b. Then you will have to configure your machine on the network. For more information on setting up the machine on the network, please refer to the Quick Setup Guide or the Network User's Guide for your machine. 3.Click the Apple menu and choose System Preferences.

4.Click the Print and Fax icon, Print and Scan or Printers and Scanners.

5.Click the + button.

6.Click Default. Choose your Brother machine from the Printer Name list.

Confirm that the correct device is listed for Print With or Use. And click the Add button.

For the CUPS driver:

Make sure XXXXXXX + CUPS is listed for Print via or Use. (Where XXXXXXX is the name of the printer model.)

7.The device is added to Print & Fax, Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners. Close System Preferences.
